Role & Responsibilities:
• Supplier Evaluation and Selection:
o Conduct assessments to evaluate the capabilities and performance of potential suppliers.
o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to select suppliers based on quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Supplier Development:
o Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
o Work with suppliers to improve manufacturing processes, quality systems, and delivery performance.
o Implement supplier development programs to enhance their capabilities and ensure alignment with company standards.
• Continuous Improvement:
o Identify opportunities for process improvement within the supply chain.
o Collaborate with suppliers to implement corrective and preventive actions.
o Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall supplier performance.
• Quality Assurance:
o Establish and monitor supplier quality metrics.
o Conduct regular audits of supplier facilities to ensure compliance with quality standards.
o Work closely with suppliers to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Collaboration:
o Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including purchasing, engineering, and manufacturing, to ensure effective communication and alignment on supplier requirements.
o Participate in new product development and provide input to ensure supplier capabilities meet product specifications.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
• Must possess an excellent understanding of quality systems, quality audits, product qualification and manufacturing processes (casting, injection molding, assembly), basic statistical methods, and improvement methodologies; green belt, black belt is a plus, and program management skill set
• Performs the Quality Project tasks described for assignments of moderate scope with some direction from the manager
• Must have the capability to apply fundamental quality techniques to a wide range of projects
• Shall be actively developing skills in product, process, and system-related techniques
• Solid oral & written communication skills with the ability to communicate well at all levels of the organization
