Senior Automation Design Engineer (SMT DFM)

The Company: Our client is a Chinese technology company that specializes in the design and manufacturing of cables, connectors, and other electronic components. It is a major supplier for several high-profile tech companies, including Apple, and plays a significant role in the supply chain for products like ICT, medical and other consumer electronics

Role & Responsibilities:

• Design and develop automation systems with a focus on Surface-Mount Technology (SMT) and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet product and process requirements, especially in the medical device industry.
• Optimize SMT processes to improve efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
• Collaborate with the project management and production teams to integrate automated systems into existing manufacturing processes.
• Ensure compliance with medical industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement design changes to improve product reliability and manufacturability.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
• Industry Background: Medical Products (PCBA injection molding, PCB encapsulation)
• 3-5+ years of experience in automation design, particularly in SMT and DFM.
• Strong understanding of medical product manufacturing, PCBA injection molding, and PCB encapsulation.
• Proficiency in CAD software and automation design tools.
• Ability to read technical reports in English and communicate effectively in a simple manner. Chinese speaking is a plus
• Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
