The Company: Our client is an iconic FMCG brand, with long standing history and significant ambitions to scale their presence across Asia Pacific.
Role & Responsibilities:
• Leadership and Team Management:
o Lead, mentor, and manage the R&D team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
o Develop and implement R&D strategies that align with the company’s business objectives.
o Set clear goals, priorities, and performance expectations for the R&D team.
• Product Development:
o Oversee the formulation and development of new hair and skin care products, ensuring they meet market trends and consumer needs.
o Manage the product development lifecycle, from ideation and formulation to testing and commercialization.
o Ensure all products comply with regulatory requirements and quality standards.
• Research and Innovation:
o Stay updated on the latest scientific research, industry trends, and technological advancements in the hair and skin care sectors.
o Foster a culture of innovation, encouraging the exploration of new ingredients, formulations, and technologies.
o Collaborate with marketing, sales, and other departments to identify market opportunities and translate them into viable product concepts.
• Project Management:
o Plan, coordinate, and manage multiple R&D projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
o Conduct regular project reviews and provide updates to senior management.
o Identify and mitigate risks associated with product development projects.
• Quality and Compliance:
o Ensure all products meet high standards of quality, safety, and efficacy.
o Oversee stability testing, safety assessments, and clinical trials as needed.
o Maintain thorough documentation of all research and development activities.
• Collaboration and Communication:
o Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, supply chain, and regulatory affairs, to ensure successful product launches.
o Communicate technical information effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
o Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and scientific meetings.
Qualifications:
• Master’s or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Cosmetic Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in R&D within the hair and skin care industry.
• Proven track record of successful product development and innovation.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent project management and organizational abilities.
• In-depth knowledge of cosmetic formulations, raw materials, and regulatory requirements.
• Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
