About The Role: The Production Manager (Apparel) Oversee the coordinated promotion of productivity, quality and better effectivity at work in all production operations, aligning them with operations strategy so that quality garments which meets buyer’s standards are shipped on time at the least cost to the company.
Reports To: Factory Manager
Key Responsibilities:
- Reviews and approves line and section production plans and targets that is aligned with the production schedule
- Conducts weekly drumbeats with all sewing line and section supervisors to monitor production performance and progress against plan covering:
- First Pass Yield
- Output and Productivity
- SPM and Pressing Performance
- Sample and Cutting performance
- Packing performance
- Supervisor, Line Leader and TPE performance
- Provides technical and managerial advise to all sewing line and section supervisors and line leaders and solve all routine and special operation problems involving:
- Production schedule and its progress monitoring
- Shipment schedules
- Sewing techniques and quality standards
- Machinery and equipment issues
- Manpower resource issues
- Raw material issues
- Develops and implements process improvement plans with the Production IEs to improve efficiency, first pass yield, cost reduction and WIP reduction
- Develops and implements cost control programs
- Delegates and monitors implementation of preventive maintenance programs on all production machineries and facilities
- Directly liaise with Production Merchandising Manager and the Shipping Manager pertaining to requests for shipment delivery extensions
- Reviews, evaluates and analyzes production generated reports pertaining to production efficiency, output, quality and delivery
- Reviews and approves requests for manpower and overtime which is aligned with budget. Directly request for approval from the Factory Manager for those going over the budget
Requirement:
- Minimum (5) years experience as Production Manager in a garment manufacturing set-up
- Adequate knowledge of management principles in garment manufacturing (production processes, quality management, budgeting & cost control)
- With adequate knowledge of technical & quality requirements, production machinery related to company’s product
