The Company: Our client is seeking a dedicated HSE Manager to lead and support their site in implementing effective health, safety, and environmental practices aligned with their company values and goals.
The primary purpose of this role is to provide leadership, expertise and support in health, safety and environment issues for manufacturing activities at the factory, in order to support the delivery of a safety culture and performance. This role is responsible for developing the systems, skills, and supporting the culture at factory to provide a safe, secure and healthy work environment, which ensures regulatory compliance and adheres to HSE management systems through the development, implementation of strategic initiatives/plans and gap assessment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Mentor site leadership in executing HSE plans aligned with country strategies.
- Enhance teamwork and effectiveness within the factory.
- Uphold company values in stakeholder interactions.
- Oversee HSE plan deployment and manage site-specific programs.
- Engage in cross-country learning initiatives.
- Contribute to the development of the plant’s HSE strategy.
- Promote best practices within the site and national HSE community.
- Lead health, safety, and environmental projects as needed.
- Provide monthly performance updates to encourage employee involvement and review metrics.
- Address obstacles, investigate incidents, and manage compliance issues.
- Track and report progress on performance indicators.
Key requirements:
- University degree and relevant occupational health and safety certifications.
- 5+ years in industrial safety or as a Safety Engineer, with 2+ years in management.
- Strong understanding of integrated safety and environmental management systems.
- Ability to engage effectively with leadership and employees.
- Knowledge of local health and safety regulations.
- Passionate about HSE and capable of influencing key personnel.
