About the Role: The Country Manager will be responsible for managing the overall business operations of the company in Can Tho, Vietnam. This role requires strategic direction, leadership, and business acumen to drive growth, optimize operational efficiencies, and ensure the company’s success in the local market. The Country Manager will report to the Regional CEO and will work closely with various functional teams, including marketing, sales, supply chain, production, and finance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Unify or Effectively integrate the business units in Vietnam. Lead the group of company’s operations and oversee them to make sure that the affiliate of the business is sustainable profitability.
- Plan, structure, organize, manage and control the teams, processes, staff and business partners, in line with corporate policies and company values.
- Develop and implement business strategy, including effective contingency plans, for a country and to coordinate the overall corporate strategy with local operations, human resource management, finance, marketing, and administration.
- Liaising with head office and generating the budgets, quarterly/ annual and 3-year framework reports to ensure the business systems are utilized effectively and organizational objectives are met.
- Define the country strategy within the framework of a group of companies’ directions and play a direct role in the implementation of key initiatives, especially regarding priority topics.
- Thorough Market and Supply intelligence research, and evaluate findings to select products from a portfolio according to market requirements, competition, and forecast. Implement successful effective propositions designed to generate mutually sustainable & profitable business relationships.
- Maintain awareness of the competitive market landscape, expansion and opportunities and industry development. Analyze current market climate including competitor intelligence.
- Build/ Maintain professional relationships with staffs, clients, suppliers and business partners.
- Oversees market performance and risk profile while ensuring that all of regulatory obligations are met and manages the design and implementation of new products and services.
- Improve efficiency/productivity by developing activity in the country (structure, operation, sourcing, procurement, marketing investments, human resources) through rational expenditure management in context of profitable growth.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Finance & Accounting, or a related field.
- 15- 20 years of professional experience, including expertise in sales and marketing management, financial and accounting management, and operations within Food Manufacturing, ideally with experience in a similar market context in Vietnam.
- Strong strategic planning and analytical capabilities to craft and implement impactful sales and marketing strategies, along with expertise in manufacturing finance, costing, budgeting, people management, and supply chain operations.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire teams and collaborate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Deep understanding of the Vietnamese market, including consumer behavior, market dynamics, regulatory considerations, and the competitive landscape.
- Results-driven approach with a focus on meeting targets and fostering business growth.
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively.
